2.The Psychiatric History of New York: Upper East Side Tour

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 31 reviews · 2 hours (approx.) · from $40Best value

Walk from East 87th Street to Madison Avenue with a guide such as Krombe, tracing New York’s psychiatric and medical past. You’ll see former institutions, private homes, Roosevelt Island views, Yorkville’s glockenspiel, and Upper East Side landmarks that are easy to miss.

“Krombe was such a laugh and more importantly so interesting. She knows so much about the psychological history of New York. Whenever I’m back in New York I’m certainly going to book another of her tours and pick up her book from Barnes and Noble in the meantime. I really hope everyone who’s considering the tour goes on it!”

Central Park and Upper East Side Walking Tour

3.Central Park and Upper East Side Walking Tour

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 7 reviews · 2 hours 30 minutes (approx.)

Spend about 2.5 hours with a small group of up to 12, walking from Pulitzer Fountain through Central Park and into the Upper East Side. Guide Bill shares park stories, film locations, hidden paths, grand homes, the New York Society Library, and views from Belvedere Castle.

“Great , Very Hot day but managed to keep in shade for most of time in central park . More time spent in park rather than upper east side ,but preferred that. Very informative guide , saw things and had them explained wed have not had we have just walked through park without guide. Far too many people on bicycles tours - they certainly missed out as they didn't go to places we did. Being English and not knowing too much American History the Upper East side walking tour was not as interesting that was us not the guide”

“Ryan was the best! He was very fun and informative; and the stops were delicious. He took us to restaurants we would definitely visit in the future. We combined his tour with a visit (after) to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This made for the perfect afternoon on the Upper East Side!”
